The Judiciary is accepting applications from qualified persons to be included in its Roster of Court Interpreters for the following languages:
- Creole
- Spanish
- French
- Tagalog
The Court Interpreter will serve both the Supreme Court and Magistrate’s Courts located in the Islands and will play a key role in assisting the Court by providing interpretation and translation services during Court proceedings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years old
- High School Diploma
- Be a citizen, legal resident, or have the legal right to remain and work in the TCI
- Able to read, write, speak, and communicate fluently in both the relevant foreign language and English
- Be of good character
- Be reliable and flexible enough to support assignments on short notice
- Be able to translate orally in English and appropriate foreign language in a manner that preserves the tone and level of language and which accurately includes everything that is said, without summarizing, or adding or omitting meaning.
- Be able to interact professionally and cooperatively with Judges, Magistrates, Attorneys and Court personnel
- Complete a one-week orientation period
- Sign an oath to comply with Code of Ethics for Court Interpreters

This is not a full time post. Work is on an as-needed basis only.
